So, I am a Forbes Magazine subscriber and I love their annual lists of Richest People or Entertainers in their various industries. However, I get really revved up whenenver the magazine covers disruption or movement in the startup industry. Enter Forbes’ Next Billion-Dollar Startups 2020 List. This list is comprised of 25 of the startups that Forbes has identifed as most likely to cross over into the the coveted land of real life Unicorns or in other words, those startups whose value meets or exceeds the one billion dollar valuation threshold.
I have reviewed Forbes’ List and picked my favorite startup names as I usually do. Without further adieu, here are my 10 favorite startup names from Forbes’ Next Billion-Dollar Startups 2020 List.
1. Capsule – I love this name and their business model. A great name for startup shaking up the Pharmaceutical delivery industry. The exact-match Capsule.com domain name makes Capsule a great choice and my fav startup name on Forbes’ list.
2. Acorns – Acorns, Acorns, everywhere Acorns or should I say money. I am perhaps more familiar with the Acorn brand than any other on Forbes’ list. Acorns.com is a great startup and brand for a Fintech startup helping their customers store up the residuals of their hard-earned money.
3. Mirror – Tell me Mirror, Mirror on the wall who is the fittest of them all? Gotta love Mirror.com as my third favorite startup name. In fact, there are a lot of people loving on their Mirror these days with the Mirror’s recent acquisition by Lululemon.
4. Shipwell – I am loving Shipwell at No. 4 because who doesn’t like a company that ships well or manages the logistics of having your merchandise or wares delivered well, well!
5. Ironclad – If you are in the business of dealmaking–you know how important it is to have a contract in place that is–Ironclad. Coming in at No. 5–none other than Ironclad.com. Great name for a great business model.
6. HomeBound – I am really feeling Homebound.com’s business model and name. I love this concept. As global warming continues to prove that it is fact and not fiction–look for Homebound to help a lot of people that have suffered the loss of their homes through devastating wildfires.
7. Expanse – I am loving the connectivity of Expanse as a enterprise connectivity and security tool.
8. Rippling – I am really digging the ripples that Rippling is causing with its employee benefits and payroll software platform.
9. Gong – Gong is a great name for enterprise software that gives its client’s the heads up in reaching and securing next customers when they are ready to do business.
10. SmartRent – This is a very cool name for a startup that creates the pathways for homeowners to juice up their smart homes with even more smart tech.
